Substitute Teachers (must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater)
If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher at our district, please review the following
guidelines as the procedures have recently changed.  In the past, a school district applied for your certificate online. 
This procedure is now the duty of the individual requesting the certificate. 
1. Go to DESE website at https://k12apps.dese.mo.gov/webLogin/login.aspx 
2.  Click on "Need a User Id" to create a profile. 
3.  Login using your user name and password
4. On left side of screen, click on "Licensure System Educator Request Access" and submit
5.  Once screen reloads, on left side of screen, click on "Licensure"
6.  Complete profile information
 7.  Complete contact information (this is your contact information for district's to use)
8.  Complete education bullet.  Enter your transcript information. 
9.  Mail a copy of your original  OFFICIAL transcript to DESE at the address shown.
 (No internet generated transcripts will be accepted by DESE.)
10. Find New Application bullet, then click on Substitute Certificate
11.  Answer Professional Conduct questions.  (Most subs are "Content Area Substitutes") and then submit
12.  Have fingerprints completed (background check information listed below).
You are finished with the application process.  You may continue to monitor the process
of the application by logging in to this site.
 
  To be a substitute at the Leeton School District, you must submit a Substitute Application to the district office.
