Please help us welcome Samantha Lafferty to the Leeton Early Childhood Center. She is originally from Ohio. Sam has lived in Florida and South Dakota as part of a military family. She has worked in childcare since she was 18, gaining experience with children of all ages. Her experience includes working at childcare facilities serving children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, after-school programs, youth centers on base, and CDCs. Most recently, she worked with two-year-olds at the Rapid City YMCA and subbed at Leeton Elementary during the second half of last school year. Sam has been a stay-at-home mom since 2020 to her now first grader, Ella. Her family moved to Leeton in July 2025 and quickly fell in love with the community. She’s excited to join the Leeton team and continue building connections in the community! We are so excited to see her step into this new role and can’t wait for a great school year ahead. Please help us give a warm Bulldog welcome to our new 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Snow - Swan Originally from Sedalia, she now lives in Warrensburg with her husband, Wes, their college-aged son, Ryan, and their two dogs, Millie the Goldendoodle and Lucy the Golden Retriever. She also has a daughter, Brandi, who is married to Doug, and they have a son, Gavin. Mrs. Snow - Swan brings experience from both Sedalia and Odessa schools and is excited to be back teaching her favorite grade… 3rd grade! When she's not in the classroom, she loves being creative. Whether she's painting, sewing, crafting, taking photos, knitting on a loom, or spending time outdoors capturing beautiful flowers, wildlife, sunsets, sunrises, and the moon, she's always finding joy in the little things. She also enjoys music, laughing, and spending time with family and friends. "I'm excited to join Leeton because it is a small school that reminds me of where I graduated from, Smithton. It's close-knit and welcoming, and I can't wait to be back in my favorite grade and meet so many new people to love on." We're so excited to have you as part of the Leeton Bulldog family. Leeton R-X School District is seeking community members who are interested in serving on our Facility Master Plan Committee.

This committee will help evaluate our current facilities, identify future needs, and provide valuable input as we develop a long-range plan that supports our students, staff, and community for years to come.

Please help us welcome Tara Martley as our Elementary Paraprofessional! We are so excited to have her joining us! She is from Holden and has lived there most of her life. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of settings, including day programs, state schools, private homes, group homes, and elementary schools. For the past 12 years, she has worked as a PCA with adults in their own homes. Outside of school, she has been married to her husband, Brian, for almost 24 years. They have one son, Joshua—who many of you know as Mr. Martley! She has a Cocker Spaniel named Poppy Sue, who is her little shadow. Tara loves to collect Trolls so much so that’s how Poppy Sue got her name! When she isn’t at school, she stays busy managing senior housing in Holden, working at the fire department in many different roles, and fundraising year-round for the March of Dimes, a cause that is very close to her heart. ❤️ “I’m excited to be working with littles again and can’t wait to join the Layton family.”

High School Volleyball practice starts August 10th at 3:30. Junior High practice will begin August 17th.

Please join us in welcoming Wesley Carr to the Leeton team! Originally from Warsaw, Missouri, Wesley joins Leeton after working as a purchaser at the hospital in Warrensburg. Wesley has been married to his wife, Kara, for almost three years. Together they have a wonderful 4-year-old daughter, Rayah, and a dog named Quill. Outside of work, Wesley loves basketball, catching the latest movies in the theater, all things nerdy, and sweet treats. Wesley has already been a part of the Leeton community, coaching here for the past two years. He shared that every teacher and parent he’s met has been incredibly kind and welcoming, and he’s excited to officially join the Bulldog family and chase his dream of becoming an educator. We’re excited to have Wesley as part of the Bulldog Family!

Please join us in welcoming our new Preschool Teacher Haley Roberts! Originally from Windsor, she began her teaching career in 2020 at Leesville before spending the past four years teaching in Windsor. She’s excited to be a little closer to home and can’t wait to become part of the Leeton community. When she’s not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family, making memories outdoors, tackling home improvement and decorating projects, and thrift shopping. "I’m excited to be joining Leeton as a preschool teacher! Being a little closer to home is a wonderful bonus, and I’m looking forward to becoming part of such a welcoming school community. I can’t wait to get to know my students and their families, build meaningful relationships, and create a fun, caring classroom where our youngest learners can grow, explore, and develop a love of learning.” Welcome to Leeton! Back to School Bash - August 22, 3pm, Leeton City Park

As the new school year begins, we'd love your help making sure every Leeton Bulldog has the school supplies they need to be successful in the classroom. We're collecting new school supplies for students and families in need, and no donation is too small! Donations can be dropped off beginning August 11 at either the elementary or high school office. Thank you for supporting our students and helping our community start the year off strong!

High School Football Practice starts Monday! The bus will leave from the back Leeton HS parking lot at 6:50 am and return at 11:30 am Monday - Friday. Mom Tackle Event next Saturday from 8 - 10 am. More detail to follow.

📚 Back-to-School Immunization Reminder! 💉 As you’re getting ready for the new school year, don’t forget to make sure your child’s immunizations are up to date! This is especially important for students entering 8th and 12th grade, as Missouri requires additional vaccines before they can start school. If your child still needs vaccines, now is a great time to schedule an appointment with their healthcare provider or local health department. A friendly reminder that proof of any required immunizations must be submitted to the school before students are able to attend classes. Classes start August 25th. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another great school year! 🍎✏️🐾
